Being active is the single best thing you can do for your health!

In fact being inactive has a worse effect on your health than smoking, diabetes and obesity all added together! 

 

Can everyone safely exercise? - well in terms of 30 minutes walking probably yes! Of course anyone with a health problem should probably get a little bit of advice to make sure they are doing the right type of activity for them.  Getting active is probably the best thing we can all do for our long-term health!

Its not just physical activity - the amount of time sitting is also linked to the risk of developing serious illness and so trying to minimise sedentary activities such as TV and computer games can be another huge plus for your long term health.

Over the years, people have undertaken all manner of active challenges to raise money for L2BH from just getting out on a sponsored walk, to open water swimming, mountain challenges, running and cycling races to the Gobi Challenge (one of the hardest physical challenges in the world)!
